Welcome to Gallery JC

You are invited to scroll down through the posts to find information for Arts and Culture at the Jersey Shore. Some general information and some specifically for Ocean and Monmouth Counties, NJ - USA, including the surrounding Mid-Atlantic region. Please check back periodically to find updates. Most are live links and may be clicked for direct access to the site or additional information.

The arts can make us think, spark our imagination and enrich our soul. They have the power to open our hearts and minds to ways of thinking and living which can promote communication, tolerance and appreciation of diverse cultures and ideas within any given society, both locally and globally.

The arts also have a significant positive economic impact that shouldn't be underestimated. Many for profit businesses and government agencies benefit directly and indirectly from patrons of the arts and arts organizations.

Creativity is a basic human impulse, possibly even divine. It is an essential element of what makes us human and can be extremely rewarding on many levels to all those that participate, either as creator or observer. That experience can be joyous as well as profound.

Studying Art and Culture in books, on the internet, via slides and other images and resources is an excellent way to learn and gather information. Although, none of those methods is a substitute for seeing it live. Getting out in the world and seeing it first hand is the best way to fully experience art or any other interest.

The strength and quality of the arts in any society may be a reflection of the strength and quality of all aspects of that society and can have a pervasive and powerful effect on those individuals who encounter it. The arts' ability to effect how we treat one another may someday save our civilization.

About Me

My photo
Gallery JC
I was born and raised in New Jersey. I love New Jersey! I am well traveled, around the US and the world, but have always lived in New Jersey and probably always will. I am most grateful to have found the love of my life. He is the best person I know. My family and friends are the most important thing to me. Unfortunately I can't spend as much time with them as I would like because of making a living. Doing something with my life that matters to me is more important than making money. I love the arts and culture and believe that helping to make them grow and thrive is more than a hobby or career but a mission.
